Painting a 5ft Puffin!

In February, I decided to apply for a job to paint a large puffin sculpture along my chosen theme of both the sea life and the people of the Yorkshire Coast. Success! My puffin design was chosen, and then sponsored by a business in Hull. All of the money raised from the puffins goes towards Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, the RLNI and Hornsea Rescue.

While doing research I was surprised to learn how much of the seafood we eat is actually from our own shores, like lobster, shrimp and cod.

So, I drove to Hull, picked up a white 5ft puffin sculpture wrapped in bubble wrap and headed to my parent’s house where I would paint and magic into being the cheeky character that was my finished puffin.

All varnished and ready to fly back to Hull, to be displayed in the city centre.

Visiting the puffin on the trail.

The puffin was auctioned off to a lovely fishing family in Bridlington where it's now living out its days in their garden.

You can see some posts on my instagram about it.
